Frames & Pixels LIVES UNITED

The United Way of Butler County premiered three new videos produced by Frames & Pixels at it's annual breakfast entitled entitled "GIVE. ADVOCATE. & VOLUNTEER." All three videos starred local United Way champions, were shot in HD and edited to reflect the United Way International 2008 theme, LIVE UNITED.

Over 200 people attended the Annual Meeting, Leadership Butler County Graduation, and Red Apple Awards. It was a genuine honor when Jim Cook, the voice of ARMSTRONG for all things academic quipped, "We've all been enjoying the videos produced by Tom Graham here today, and I just wanted to say, I taught him everything he knows..." Look for the LIVE UNITED videos to be posted to Frames & Pixels portfolio in the coming weeks.

Welcome Ashton!
Well, a late post is better than never... Fresh out of Slippery Rock University, Frames & Pixels is happy to welcome Ashton Ruby to our team. Ashton is a recent graduate from the Communication Department. He and I met at the SRU Communication Department Expo just prior to graduation. During his time in college he had travelled to Japan, made a movie, produced numerous regular programs on WSRU-TV and worked at Bob's Subs. Welcome Ashton!

Now Fortified With HD
Lutron-HDVGet ready to double your pixels because Frames & Pixels is now shooting HD! Thanks to a recent project for Lutron Corporation and LarsonO'Brien Advertising, we are now shooting 1080i, and all I can say is "WOW!" The videos look fantastic. Colors are more vibrant, details are much intense, and the clarity is much more... well, clear.

We travelled to the suburbs of Chicago for the maiden voyage, a little bit nervous going through TSA with a spanking new camera. It performed flawlessly and there are so many great new features on the camera that I've only begun to scratch the surface. The screen capture doesn't do it justice, but the clouds in the background tell a little bit about the image quality.

It's a shift in the workflow for editing, but we'll be working on adding some new equipment to help facilitate the process. Since so many of our projects still require SD 4:3, we now have the options of either letterboxing or center-cutting the image. A lot more in store. "WOW!"

Online Portfolio Now Available
Screen ShotLike the shoemaker who's children have no shoes, Frames & Pixels' own website was negligently lacking in the Portfolio section. I finally spent the good part of a Saturday and was able to lay out the framework to easily update our portfolio as we need to. The new section contains commercial campaigns, individual commercials, promotional videos, and television programming. If you like the player, we also make those, too... Enjoy!
